Alison Krauss

Alison Krauss' first taste of notoriety as a fiddler occurred in 1990, when she was 19 years old and won the Grammy for Best Bluegrass Album. This was an achievement and not just because of the artist's age, as the album that was a part of her success, I've Got That Old Feeling was actually third of her collection. Too Late to Cry was the first album she released around her Champaign Illinois resident's age of 16. Her contract was already in place with Rounder Records, one of the best folk labels when she was just 14. Her achievements even at this young age and stunning virtuosity, have been in awe of her dedication to bluegrass, the oldest and possibly the most neglected in traditional American form of musical expression. Krauss became a mature musician and producer, having gained experience from her time as a teenager phenom. Alison Alison Alison
